Arvind Arul Nambi Rajan

Ph.D. student

Arvind joined the lab in 2017 as a BMCDB graduate student. He is fascinated by how all forms of known life evolved to be governed by a common central dogma of gene expression (DNA-RNA-Protein). Currently, his project focuses on understanding how the DEAD-box ATPase, Dbp5p, interfaces with RNA to support mRNA export and gene expression. Right now Arvind thinks yeast are pretty awesome and joined the lab in hopes of learning about the greater intricacies of RNA regulation.
